Going to School

Ever since the boys started at this school they have been asking to ride their bikes to school but it never really worked out until the other day. I finally let them give it a try. I guess it wasn't what they were expecting because they haven't asked since! While we were out getting them set Tucker kept taking off down the sidewalk, I guess he thought he was going to school too.

update on yesterday's post

Sam said that the Wordless Wed. post from yesterday isn't very good because it's hard to notice the green bow in his hair. I posted this picture because I thought it was funny that Eden stuck the bow in his hair while he was sleeping, so I guess it isn't "wordless" enough, but I still think it's funny! Now you can laugh all the more when you notice the bow or just ignore the post!

Chinese New Year

Eden, Tucker and I went to a Chinese New Year party for the Mother's club. Eden had fun making a pink dragon and putting clothes on it with stickers. We had a lot of good food and then the kids did a little parade. Eden put herself right at the front of the parade.

Superbowl treat

I'm just finally getting some pictures loaded so they will all be random order with the least description needed first. These are the brownies Sam made for a superbowl party. I saw them on a blog somewhere but I can't remember where to give the credit too now, but I thought Sam did a great job on them!

Vegas baby

I feel bad that it has taken me so long to post about the Vegas trip because I don't think I have the enthusiasm I would have a month ago when I got back, but I still remember that we had a blast and if I wait until I have more time I'll forget even more. Our husbands gave us this girls' weekend as a Christmas gift. We were able to go with airline miles and rental miles from one husband and we were able to use Sam's hotel points so all we had to pay for was the fun! Really the only downside I struggled with, was worrying that other friends might have been left out, but it was too nice of a gift to stress over so I determined to enjoy myself and had even more fun than I expected and it just makes me want to have more fun girls' events in the future where we are able to include more of our great friends.

We got up super early on a Friday morning to head to the airport so we arrived at our hotel in the afternoon and headed out to the Belagio. We stuffed ourselves in the buffet at the Belagio and did some window shopping. We had fun browsing the jewelery store and were shocked at the prices in the designer store clearance sections. Then we headed over to see the Cirque de Soleil show "O" which was absolutely amazing. The actually have water in the stage and the acrobats dive into the water from swings way up high and all sorts of things but then sometimes there is a stage with no water, it's crazy. Danelle gasped out loud several times when she thought people were going to crash! It's hard to even describe but I am so glad we were able to go. The first picture is us in our seats waiting for the show to start.
The next day we slept in which is a rare luxury for each of us and then we had a late breakfast and headed to the strip. Our main goal was the hit the m&m store and see some things along the way but we ended up parking a lot farther than we thought so we got a nice long walk along the strip but it was fun to people watch and eventually we made it to there. I called the kids and asked them what there favorite color was without any explanation to leave them wondering and then filled up a little bag for each of them. When I got home, they just kept hounding me to find out why I wanted to know their favorite color but I kept putting them off by telling them I had to describe my whole weekend first. I told them in great detail about the show and about the fountains at the Belagio and everything else. When I finally got to the candy, it was worth it, they were so excited by such a simple treat and Kolby even left me a thank you letter on my bed!

I forgot to mention that after breakfast we went to get pedicures and decided to all get our nails done too. The nails are not a typical thing for any of us, in fact it was a first for April, but it was fun to do together. The funnest part was that night when we were dead tired, we decided to try and take some pictures and we just couldn't stop laughing as we tried to figure out our various poses.

After we had been on the strip for a while we debated about what to do next, we thought about blue man group and we thought about more shopping on the strip but then we realized that if we were going to spend that much money we would rather it be more worthwhile so we went and found Target. It may sound crazy, but we had so much fun. We reasoned that we could spend as much as we would have on Blue Man Group and that even though we do have Target at home we are rarely there alone or even shopping for ourselves and to top it off, they were having a huge clearance sale, we tried on tons of clothes and shoes and I even had to buy an extra bag to bring somethings home, but you know me, I can't pass up a good deal and these were REALLY good deals! Poor April had to wait for us a bit because they didn't have much in the way of maternity clothes. After Target, we headed to Cafe Rio, a first for me and I now understand why people love it so much, I had a Pork Taco that was so good! At that point we realized that our flight was too early the next morning and we tried to change it to no avail but we headed off to Walmart for a bit more shopping and then back to the hotel hot tub to relax for the end of the evening. I don't think it all sounds as exciting as I type it, but I was there with really great friends and we were able to just relax and be ourselves and know that our husbands were taking care of things at home. Most of the time it was just nice to be adults and have the change and be in good company but we also had our moments of being silly little girls and laughing so hard we cried (thanks Danelle-thinking about that one things makes me lol just typing about it), so thank you to April and Danelle for being such great friends and to our husbands for making it happen. They did so well, they took the kids to park day, Sam did Eden's hair everyday and they all even made it to church early with all the kids dressed, bathed and ready! Thank you Sam for loving me so much and wanting me to be happy, you do make me happy all the time and it was one of the best gifts ever!

Boys will be boys

I am still having computer issues, mostly because we just haven't had the time to sit down and focus on it so I thought I would post some of my favorites that I found of the boys. Its killing me because I have so much to tell but I want to do it with the pictures that go with it so far now, enjoy some more pictures from a few years ago!

The picture above is from the time we took Jordan out to eat for his 6th birthday. He insisted on wearing the birthday crown he had from school.

Oobleck!
