Friday Fill-Ins #135

I can't get on my computer to update my blog so I figure I might as well do the Friday Fill-In's from the laptop as long as it doesn't shut down while I'm working on it (that is a very real possibility!) we go!
1. It's time for us to find a house and figure out exactly when we are moving.
2. Mountain House; it's not a bad place for being a new community, I'm really sad to leave it.
3. I must be getting tired of being separated from Sam on the weekdays, even if I didn't see hime all that much more before, it did make a difference.
4. The truth of the Restored Gospel and atonement of Jesus Christ is the best thing I have ever known.
5. My husband is simply wonderful.
6. The last time I laughed really loudly was probably sometime camping last week while the adults chatted around the fire at night.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Sam getting home, tomorrow my plans include a baptism and Sunday, I want to be uplifted and hopefully do some uplifting myself!

Just another update

So I was thinking its been a few weeks since I pulled the pictures off of the camera to put on the blog, but then I found that I have only taken 2 pictures since we got back from Idaho and this is it, exciting stuff huh?!!! I got the camera out to get the picture below and Tucker kept saying "cheese, cheese" because he wanted me to take his picture but every time I tried, he turned. This one is the only one I didn't have to delete because of blurriness!

The kids were so excited to have their friends over yesterday and these two spent almost the whole time on the couch going through/trading pokemon cards!
It's not that we haven't had a few things I could take pictures of, I've just forgotten the camera or been lazy I guess. We've been to Shadow Cliffs twice recently, a fun little lake so I will post those pictures soon from my friends and I also went with my sister. We were up in Sac one weekend and got to spend some time with Sam's family and his brother McKay and family were in town. Their daughter is close to Tucker's age so they had fun following each other around and we also had some yummy Chinese food with my family while we were there. I also made it to my cousin Felisha's baby shower and it was fun to see everyone there.
The rest of the time has just been the lazy days of summer. It finally got hot so we've been swimming a lot which is always fun and Eden is finally starting to get comfortable in the water. Sam has started working in Roseville already, plus he is at a training this weekend For those of you who didn't know, Sam's company transferred him up there and we are moving to Lincoln. We finally decided we will start house hunting there for sure and the boys are already set to start school up there. I'm actually really sad to leave here, we love it here and I planned on raising my family here and we have some really great friends here. In fact, I tear up a bit as I try and type this, but at least if we have to move, I'm happy to go back to some other really great friends and family nearby. Its been hard because we have been sort of in limbo not knowing exactly when and where we would move to, plus I'm sort of doing the single parent thing for a while. Usually Sam will be here on the weekend, but he is out of town doing a training for his second job (Video interpreting) so it makes for a long weekend. I did give in and get a babysitter last night so I could go with the ladies to Ghiradelli, a much needed moment away from the kids!
I guess that's it in the way of updates. People keep asking and I never seem to have much to tell. Hopefully we'll have some house details soon and pictures of something to post!

Rob and Julie's wedding

I didn't get a lot of pictures, but this is Rob and Julie's wedding in her brother's backyard. Sam officiated the wedding. They asked him to be funny and he did a really good job but he didn't feel like the rest of the crowd was that into it so he cut some of his material. He made it nice and sweet but said some really nice things and then when he was done he changed to his summer clothes and grilled up all the meat! He is a man of all trades and we are thinking of renting him out!

Eden and Tucker had a lot of fun there playing with their cousins, jumping on the trampoline and blowing bubbles!

The great thing about facebook and blogging is that we are able to stay connected with friends we might otherwise have lost track of. That is how we realized that Tenae was in Pocatello. We hadn't seen her in about 15 years, but it was fun to get together and reminisce about high school days and people we all know. It was also fun to see where she lives and meet her kids. Eden had a great time with her little boy that is about the same age and her daughter in the picture below spent most of the time preparing and assigning parts for her own version of the wizard of oz. I'm so glad we had the chance to visit and I'm so glad that Sam is so friendly and social because it would be much harder for me to do it all on my own. Now one question, what is up with my they really look that bright or is it just the picture? They are mixed with silver so they don't look like they stand out that much to me when I look in the mirror!

Pocatello Zoo

The first day in Idaho, we all headed over to the Pocatello zoo. It's not a huge zoo but the kids still had a lot of fun and Eden was happy to be spending time with her cousins.

They were trying to take a picture in front of a peacock but it kept just getting out of the picture, but it was still fun to get a picture of the girl cousins.

After the zoo the men and the kids went to a movie and the women and Tucker all went shopping. I had a lot of fun and Tucker managed to get pretty comfy himself!

We started our journey to Idaho last week through Utah first. I saw this cloud that looked like a heart while we were driving and Sam said he had noticed it too so I decided to take a picture. Random I know!

We stopped in Ogden at my Aunt's house to see my Grandmas who has been living there recently. It was a mini-family reunion with all my aunts family that I haven't seen in years and another aunt, and my orginal family. We had some great food and of course took a tour of their basement. My uncle worked at Coca Cola for years and has a major collection. These pictures don't even show the half of it, but we had fun looking at all the cool things!

Eden had a lot of fun with my uncle who she affectionately called Grandpa. The funniest part was when he showed her his fake leg! When she first saw it she just cracked up laughing but at that point she didn't know it came off. If only we had a picture of the moment he popped it off, she was a mixture of shock, fear, excitement and perplexment all in one and then she stepped back and looked around at everyone incredulously. She got over it fairly quickly and looked inside it and carried it around. She even had him do it again one more time before she left! She was very excited to tell her brothers about it when she got home (they stayed with Sam's parents while we took Tucker and Eden with us)!

Of course it was nice to see my grandma again. She seemed so healthy and back to her normal self. We miss seeing her as often and Eden and Tucker took right to her as well.

White Trash Birthday Bash

Before you see any pictures, I better explain that we did a white trash party for Sam's birthday. We had prizes for the best dressed and the best food. The food winners actually brought McDonald's cheeseburgers cut up in fourths with toothpicks in them and chicken nuggets. We provided the ritz crackers with squeeze cheese and root beer in bottles of course. I also put sheets over the furniture and hung a clothesline in the entry way and we hung up nascar posters!

We had a spam carving contest in the form of hood ornaments!
You can't see Jodi's full costume above, but she had written on the front of her shirt "Hooz yer daddy" or something similar to that (she's pregnant by the way)

Not sure if you can tell in the above picture, but Darren actually cut his hair for the part and chuck did a tattoo on his arm that said Jennifer which was crossed out and then Becky under it which is his wife's name!

The spam hood ornaments!

For the birthday cake, we had a plate of hostess cakes still in the wrappers! Good times! I'm glad we have such fun friends that go along with our crazy ideas and I'm glad they could celebrate Sam's birthday with us! I'm really going to miss these people when we move!

A year and a half

Tucker turned 18 months old last week and I wanted to post a little update on him to always remember the sweetness of this age. I love when we say it’s time for prayer, Tucker puts the back of his hands together. Sometimes when he has been sitting in his high chair for a few minutes and the food is not quite ready yet, he will put his two hands together like that and call out to us. He also loves to wrestle with his brothers. If they are ever lying on the floor he jumps right on them. One of his fighting methods is to sit on them and bounce, often on their face and he is quite proud of himself because he knows they are helpless at that point. He is a total daddy’s boy. He most often prefers Sam over me and it’s so cute to see them together. Another one of Tucker’s favorite thing right now is to sit on your lap or the edge of something or even walk backwards saying “whoa, whoa, whoa” until he falls back somewhere. It is one of the funniest things we have ever seen. He also is a super expressive kid, I can’t even put into writing the way he smiles his sly little smile at us. He doesn’t talk much but he definitely shakes his head no and can say “me” when everyone else is getting something. Another thing he likes to do is say “mom, mom, mom” or “mommy” to me in the car and I turn to look at him and he just gives me a sly smile and a little game begins. As soon as I turn away he starts again. He has also recently started saying “Baby” and he sings the part of the song from the “Baby Signing Time” video and signs “Baby” while he sings it. We catch him singing it on his own off and on all day. Lately he has really taken to copying Eden, whatever she does, he tries to do it too. He is such a sweet, lovey, cuddly kid and mostly has a permanent big smile on his face but also is a bit of a risk taker, climbing on whatever he can. I can’t wait to see how these little bits we see of him turn out in his personality as he grows older.
