Twinkle Toes

------- Updated pictures above---- I added some of the later pictures above to make sure and get them printed in our blog book.
For Christmas, my mom got all the kids lessons for something they were interested in. Eden got to start ballet this month and she is loving it. She came skipping out of the building last week saying "Chasse, chasse (not really the correct spelling but I couldn't figure out how to do it right) It was also fun to find out that her friend from her primary class at church was in her ballet class. I missed the first class while I was driving to Disneyland, but my sister took her and got a few pictures that I don't have yet so the top picture is from the second class, but my friend took several pictures with her good camera of her daughter that also included Eden so these are the ones I took from her blog:

So Sweet!

I've been spending a lot of time lately trying to get things organized. I have been working on a little system to plan my meals, I'll tell you about it sometime if you want. I've started using an online calendar at which is working great because Sam can check it out at work or on his phone and I have it on my phone and it color codes everyone in the family. I'm hoping to get more into couponing and the like and I've made a family night magnetic chart so I'm getting there and I quite enjoy the process of coming up with my system. Some of the boys seem to enjoy organizing things as well, Kolby and Brady will both spend a good amount of time on a project like that. This last weekend I asked Kolby to go organize the canned foods in the pantry. He asked me how to do it, and I said to sort them by type. He spent a good amount of time in there and he called me over excitedly to show me. He had done just as I said, organized by type, he organized all the cans by brand! I'm going to leave it like that for now because of all his hard work!

I just wanted to post this because I'm so grateful for such a hard working husband. Despite working usually 60+ hours a week, he found time to build these shelves and this workbench to get our garage organized! I was impressed!

Jordan's turn

It was finally Jordan's turn to go to Disneyland with Sam for his birthday and he actually let me go with him too! Of course the free birthday day was over with the start of the new year but we still had enough Disney credits to cover all of three tickets and our food and souvenirs and definitely worth it! I just had to laugh and grab the camera to have Jordan display the lovely microwave in our motel room. He also loved to have the whole big bed to himself to sit and read his Calvin and Hobbes!
Since I was there this time and I actually took most of the pictures, there will be a lot, plus Jordan was constantly looking for opportunities for us to take his picture!

He didn't want to go on anyting scary so Sam kept telling him that each ride we went on would be the scariest. He wanted to control the ride on Dumbo so he wouldn't go to high, but near the end I grabbed control and took us all the way up!

We were talking about which characters everyone was like and Jordan decided he was most like Dale. When he saw this statue he had to get a picture!

Sam's parents have a tile with all the kids names on it so we made sure to stop by...actually they have two tiles and Sam realized that Deia and Eli are out their twice!
Jordan chose this R2D2 backpack as his souvenir/birthday present. This is what we found when he went to bed at night!
Overall, we had a great time. Jordan's favorite ride was Autopia and he also had fun beating me at Buzz Lightyear. I'm really glad we had that time to spend together and that Sam got to spend that special time with all three boys this last year.

I've been thinking about what my word for the year might as I've seen it on many blogs recently and this is the word I came up with. When I think to my word last year, buoyancy, I am amazed at how fitting it was without having a clue about the changes we would experience that year. So I hope that as I focus on harmony this year, it will be just as fitting. There are a few layers to this. I hope to focus more on living my life in harmony with my values, knowledge and ideals instead of letting so much of the other stuff get in the way. I know where I want to be but I let myself get sidetracked to easily. Sometimes we seem to have so much noise and chaos that the harmony seems missing. I want to find the balance to all the aspects in my life so that the parts fit together and the overall picture becomes more like beautiful music, pleasing to the ear in this sense. After so many years of change, I think this year we will finally begin to settle and can actually get past just surviving and start creating this harmony.

Totally Two

So I mentioned before that Tucker just turned two and he has completely turned into a two year old, he has the "I do it"'s and the getting out of bed 10 times since he was switched to the big bed after climbing out of the crib. He takes his straps off in the carseat, he climbs on the counter to turn on the water and he teases his sister. All the fun stuff that comes with two, but he is also doing some really funny things. I have to try and remember to record them here when they happen, but I'll just start with one for now. This video doesn't show much but he fell in love with this Christmas mouse that dances and sings "ice, ice baby." Earlier in the day Kolby and Eden had been playing with it and about 20 minutes later Tucker randomly sang "ice, ice baby" and kept doing it off and on all day, almost under his breath. When we were telling Sam about it that night, he got the mouse and turned it on over and over again and was dancing and singing along. Of course he stopped when I got the camera but you can see him dance a bit and if you notice he mouth's the words. What so funny is he doesn't even do it for the attention usually, it just seems like in irresistible urge to him! So fun!

Cone zone

Tucker found this cone at Brady's basketball practice and spent almost the whole hour playing with it. He looked inside, climbed in, used it as a slide and several other ways he found to explore it. Too cute!

We were able to celebrate Jordan and Tucker's birthday together last week.  Jordan had to stay up on New Year's Eve with the babysitters to welcome in his birthday.  We actually just took it easy on his birthday and has people over on Tucker's birthday the next day.  Turning two is obviously not that big deal to Tucker but he was very excited to open presents having just experienced Christmas.  He was also excited to see the cakes.  When we said it was his cake he said, "my cake? my cake? my cake!!! wow!!"

Jordan and Kolby gave the lego set to Tucker, Jordan was very decided on that being what he should get Tucker, although he told me to find the cheapest set I could find since he wasn't going to the store with me.

Jordan didn't want a cake this year, just ice cream so I made him a brownie cake to put his candles on and Tucker was excited to see swiper on his cake.

Tucker loved the Toy Story couch from Grandma and Grandpa. He has recently figured out how to climb out of the crib so we've had some adventures at bedtimes, but he has chosen to sleep on this fold-out couch the last few nights so it has been nice for us as well!  Sorry this is a lame post, I'm trying to get it done when I am too tired, but we are so happy to have Jordan and Tucker in our family, they are both so funny and give us many laughs and we couldn't imagine life without them!
