August Facebook Status Updates

Backtracking to August...

Internet hooked up today, very little unpacking done today...could be a correlation there!

It seems like we've moved to a really great ward at church, we had a lot of fun getting to know people at the picnic tonight!

Enjoyed one last summer outing at the beach today with friends before school starts tomorrow!

Made homemade potato chips in the microwave for the kids' first day of school and they are actually really good!

If you want to feel dumb realize that you forgot your wallet as you check your purse to pay at the store....if you want to feel REALLY dumb do the 15 min. drive home to retrieve said wallet only to realize when you get there that the wallet is in your pocket!

‎6 out of the 7 of us ate it...I call the overnight oatmeal in the crockpot a success!

Never thought I would ever be so happy to do laundry!

Off to the beach again!

I can't believe I am the mother of a 12 year old today!

(an ap that goes through the church's family history website to see who you are related to)

has found more relatives!

Common ancestor: A LOVELL
From: England
Year: 1599

Are you tired of me saying this yet...I'm at the beach again!

Going away...

*I've been holding off on this post because I'm waiting for some pictures from a friend but I guess I will just add them to this post when I get them.*

In the 14 times that we have moved in the last 13 years, I think this is the first time anyone has thrown us a going away party and they were really nice!  These ones were actually "Girls' Nights" (one would have been couples or families but we couldn't find a time that Sam would be in town that would work).  It's funny to me, because other moves I was a little bit sad to not have some type of special good-bye like this with my friends, but this time I wasn't even thinking about it and I had two such gatherings and it was really fun to see everyone.  The first was with what I guess I could just call my Friday friends although there is a lot more too it than that, but they know what I mean.  It was a lot of fun to sit and chat with them for hours! Most of those friendships got me through my early years with my kids and even though we've changed in some ways and moved on to different things and not needed in the same way, they will always be very dear to me.

The other was put together by some friends in my ward. Although several people were out of town we had fun with our small little group and one of them made this amazing cake.  They had asked me what my favorite colors are and what my theme is beforehand and I thought that was a little weird because I wasn't getting married or having a baby, but it turns out that it was the basis for the cake.  Isn't it cool?  And it was yummy too!  Thank you to everyone for making me feel so special!

the dance

Tucker has this funny little dance that the older boys taught him to do and this captures it as close as I can in pictures!

Best Friends

These two are so cute together.  I wish I had thought to take more pictures of all the kids with their friends before we left but my friend did manage to capture these two in action at her house the last couple of times they got to hang out!

Cute pictures

My friend takes such great pictures that I have to steal all the ones from her blog that include my kids!  The first few are at the last day of school picnic.  Tucker and his little friend look so old!

The rest of these pictures are from Tucker's little friend's party.  My friend put on an amazing party even though she was moving away that next week, she had no family help and she had a newborn!  Even though it was a little kid party, the older boys and Eli also had a lot of fun!

Random Sundays

We had a lot of Sundays without Sam before we moved so they were a little slow and sometimes hard, but we made it through!  Eden usually ask Sam how she looks before church so we had to take some pictures for her to show him.  This first one had to include the three of us because we were all matching in orange!

After church one Sunday Jordan decided he wanted a hamburger so he proceeded to make hamburgers for all of us!
and Eden has to show some of her Sunday poses!

found on Brady's camera

I have to jump back to the reunion because we found this note when we packed up Eden's room, it says "Piper, Piper she's our pet. And she's never slept with use yet. piper".  When Nate's family stayed with us before the reunion, piper was the center of the kid's world and Magei must have written the note sometime when they were all playing with Piper.  She was their baby and they decorated her crate and much more.  Eden had such a great time playing with all of her cousins the whole week and I think she especially enjoyed having a bunch of girls near her age!

Comedy Sportz

Just before we left town I surprised the boys with a night at Comedy Sportz.  Jordan had been for his birthday and has been talking about it ever since and the other boys really wanted to go.  I didn't tell them where we were going so they were super excited when we pulled up.  We invited some of their friend's families and my sister to come along and had a great time.  We got there a little early so they played tag in the parking lot until it opened.

painting the table black

We've been meaning to paint this table for a long time so I finally gave it to the boys as a summer project. I had already sent the paintbrushes down to Sam so they had a lot of fun using spray paint instead!

Cow appreciation day

Every year Chik-fil-a gives a free meal if you dress up for cow appreciation day so we took Kolby's friends and braved the crowds for our free meal a few weeks ago.

Summer is fast coming to an end for us.  The school that the kids will be starting at starts next week!  It has been another crazy summer for us, I still have posts waiting of some of the fun times and the move and everything else going on this summer.  It definitely went way too fast, at the same time, now that we have moved I'm ready for some order and schedule.  I am sad that we didn't get to spend as much time with friends and do as many things as we wanted but I am really glad that we got to see our good friends, the Foberts one last time before we left.  They made the trek up to see us last minute one afternoon and we always enjoy seeing them.  Even thought most of the house was packed up already, the kids still manage to find some fun along with some swimming time at the pool.  Danelle even made us all some yummy calzones!
