June Facebook Status Updates

Monday, June 11
It seems like a good day to go to the beach!

Wednesday, June 13
For the next two days I am staying home and unpacking so please don't mention any fun summer things that might tempt me or expect me to be anywhere or ask me to do anything, I need two days of uninterrupted time or it is never going to get done!

Primary Water Day

The Primary at church had a fun water day and these are the pictures that a friend took of the kids.  Eden thought this friend was hilarious when he fell over while jump-roping!
I just love Eden's expressions!

This one is Brady if you can't tell!
This is Eden catching her water balloon and it is not pictured but Brady and Jordan were very proud to have won the water balloon toss...
...and I enjoyed sitting back and chatting with the other moms!
It turned out to be a great activity and we're thankful to the primary for putting it together!

Dance pictures

I'll post the recital pictures and video on another post but these are Eden's costume pictures.  She was able to take a ballet/tap class in a studio in someone's house from one of the other wards at church, so she enjoyed getting to see some of those friends from church every week.

Summertime!

We are so happy for school to be out for the summer!  Our fun friends rented this slide and had a water party in their backyard on the last day of school.  I just had to post these pictures of Eden because she has the funniest expressions!  She was on this slide for almost the entire 4 hours we were there, I only saw her off of it twice, about 10 minutes eating some snacks and about 10 minutes playing with a friend that didn't want to slide!  She is definitely our little thrill seeker!

6th grade promotion

Brady walked away with a whole bunch of awards!  Most of them had to do with getting straight A's and things like that.  One was the Presidential Award for consistantly having at least a 3.5 grade average for 3 years and also scoring advanced on STAR testing. So we laughed a little when he got the "most improved" award for his class (pictured below) but his teacher told him it was for coming out of his shell.  At the beginning of the year he was new and shy and so she was happy to see the real Brady come out as the year went on.

Award time again

I know these pictures are all the same but I still want the boys to know we are proud of all their hard work!

Moving Day

I really think we have this moving thing down to a science!  There were a couple of things that fell into place that helped it along as well.  We were able to get the keys on the Tuesday afternoon before the move so the boys and I were able to take several loads over in my car ahead of time.  The picture above is my car packed full of kitchen stuff. I loaded the whole kitchen in my car by myself and a friend from the ward came and helped me unload it and get it into the cupboards right away.  I also had a couple of friends take Tucker on different days so I could just run loads back and forth. That was definitely the most physical part of the move for me running boxes up the stairs all week long.

(added later: garage sale pictures the week before the move)
Sam was able to borrow an employees truck and bring it back with him when he got back to town on Thursday.  The boys loved being able to ride in the back to hold the boxes in place since it was only less than 1/2 mile away.  Sam and the boys were able to get most of the beds set up ahead of time as well.

The actual move day was Saturday and it went so smoothly that it only took 2 hours from start to finish!  Of course it was because we had so many amazing friends show up from our ward, I think we counted that we probably had close to 20 people show up!  We picked up a truck that morning and a couple of the men showed up a little early and were able to help Sam get most of the boxes loaded.  Then when everyone else arrived we got most of the furniture in the truck or at least to the front yard.  The second trip covered the rest of the furniture and then there was one last trip to gather the few randoms like the BBQ and bikes.

We were especially impressed with these two guys who could just pick up things between the two of them like the piano and make it look like nothing!  The one on the right leaves on his mission in August and they announced in Priesthood at church that if anyone needs to move they better do it before August otherwise they will have to wait two years!
We really are grateful for all the help we received and are so happy that everything went so smoothly.  Some people mentioned that I should write a "How To Guide" for moving, maybe I'll make it another post!

Hollywood hike

Sam's employees decided to set-up a hike to the Hollywood sign for Memorial Day.  Sam was able to take the kids while I stayed home and cleaned the previous house.  The kids all said they had a good time (apparently that is not what Tucker was saying while on the hike) and they all were happy to gather for the Subway picnic at the end!  These are the pictures Sam took:

Gold Rush Day

I had the chance to help out with Kolby's Gold Rush Day at school.  It is the 4th grade end of the year celebration and they set-up a mock Gold Rush town.  I worked in the mercantile and weighed gold so they could buy things.  They also had crafts, and root beer to purchase and they could even buy a shave!  They had some games like watermelon seed spitting and pie eating contests and roping.  In the beginning they were able to go hunt for gold in the fields and stake their claims.  The kids had so much fun!  Also, before they entered the town they performed some square dances for the parents, these are what I could get of Kolby and the last three pictures are from a friend, I think the shots he got are so sweet!
