Peer Model

The school district here has a preschool program for kids with special needs which includes anything from speech delays to more severe needs.  They also take two kids for each class to be peer models and so we applied for Tucker.  I'm not sure if it is because we knew sign language or because I emailed all the teacher but either way Tucker got called to come and try it out for an hour and a half.  He was really excited about this idea all the way until we got the call to come in.  I understand his fears being dropped there without much prep and he has never really been away from me except his church class so I let him pick out his new outfit to get him excited and it worked up until we started driving up to the school. We could tell he was nervous when he started asking questions about lunchtime and "What if I don't know how to do math?"  It almost killed me to see his face when I left him after we sat in there with him for a few minutes, it was also the morning I found out about Kendra so my emotional state was not good.  Before I picked him up, I sat in the parking lot and cried for half an hour from all of it but when I went to pick him up he was all smiles, he loved it!!!

Of course, when the first real day of preschool arrived he was just as nervous.  He picked his second favorite shirt, his frog shirt, for this day and once again he loved it.  He can't wait to go everyday and I think it is so neat that he gets to know all different kinds of kids in a small class with lots of attention.

Labor day....

We decided to walk over to the new park for FHE!  The water fountain area wasn't coming on so Eden spent most of her time on the monkey bars and Tucker had me watch him do tricks on the slide over and over again while Sam and the older boys played frisbee.  The kids were all excited to see most of the kids from our ward and neighborhood there having a gathering, especially Kolby who spent some time playing with his friends!  It is nice to have such a cool new park just around the corner!

Work Beach Day

Sam's company had another beach day and there isn't much to tell except that there were some crazy waves breaking really close to the edge which made for an exciting day and some wet towels!

Dressing up

We've been watching some friends every other week one day after school while their mom is in a meeting.  These dress-ups seem to be the favorite activity, no matter what age you are!

Pure Joy!

One Sunday morning I came down to this sight...all three boys totally dressed for church and reading their scriptures on their own.  It made my heart melt!

Tucker and his friend had become great buddies in the weeks that I watched him, but his situation changed and we are no longer watching him.  I had to get a couple of pictures of the two of them on the last day for Tucker to remember, especially when they both fell asleep in the car while we were waiting for Brady to get out of school!  They were so cute while we were driving in the car, Tucker was telling him he would miss him!

It's that time again....

This seems like ages ago since they started school almost two full months ago, but you'll have to just look at all the pictures because I couldn't decide which ones I liked best!
