BYU twins

They were doing dishes together and realized that they were matching and insisted that I take their picture.

Birthday games

Brady's turned 14 last month and as usual he didn't want a big deal, we offered to have a party with a bunch of friends but all he wanted was a couple of friends that he knew enjoyed playing cards and board games like him.  Of course we did celebrate as a family on his birthday, he wanted burritos for dinner and waffles for breakfast and we gave him his gifts and then that weekend we did the little game night.  At the end of the night, just before we took them home, they were having fun diving and jumping!

And then Sam joined in the fun!

It took extra effort to keep Eden from trying to jump in the mix.  At dinner she plopped herself down right in the middle between Brady's friends and we had to laugh even though we know it won't be so funny when she is like that with her brother's friends in about 6 or 7 years!

It is not the prettiest cake but we tried to surprise them with pop rocks in the sprinkles.  The problem was they started popping as soon as they hit the frosting.  They still had pop left but it didn't seem to impress the boys as much as we expected!

We had so many leftovers from the various events that we pulled it all out for dinner one night.  The kids wanted me to take a picture of all this food!

Purple Picnic

This year Sam and the other managers decided to have a picnic instead of a beach day.  It was nice to head to our park around the corner instead of the long drive! I only took a few pictures but if Sam ever sends me the ones that he has, I'll add them here!   It is nice that his employees can all get together and have such a good time and the kids has a lot of fun playing the games that were arranged.

Arrow of Light

Kolby received his Arrow of Light at the last pack meeting.  By the third boy, I'm finally getting the hang of the cub scout thing and for the first time we weren't scrambling at the end to get it complete, he actually finished it two months early!   We are very proud of him and also happy to have a break from cub scouts (as parents) for a couple of years!

Toy time

While Sam and my dad and the rest of the kids went to a movie, Tucker and my mom and I stopped by at Kohl's.  Tucker spent a lot of time at toys, he just plopped down on the floor and spent a good 10 minutes studying these toys.  Then he noticed that I was taking his picture... then he said "mom, take a picture of this so you can remember to get it for me for my birthday!"

Parent's weekend

My parents had some work to do halfway down here and decided to make a trip of it and come see us for the weekend.  Of course the kids love all the movies and eating out and hanging out and I have fun shopping with my mom!!!  It was a fast weekend, but fun!

Big time soccer

We arrived early to our church family night in the park and the Bishop and a couple of Young Adults were kicking the soccer ball around.  Eden hopped right in and had so much fun.  I love that she doesn't care about age and could hold her own!

Disney Day

We realized that Eli would be at Disneyland alone for the weekend while the rest of his family was at the Disney convention and decided it would be a perfect early birthday gift for Brady to spend a day there with Eli!   Thanks to McKay we were able to get him in and they had a great time.  I heard that they went on Splash Mountain like 8 times in a row.   Sam and Deia met up with them later and Sam said that walking with Deia in her Venolope Costume was like walking with a celebrity with all the attention she got!

John's Incredible Pizza

Almost 3 years ago we won a gift card to John's Incredible Pizza at one of Sam's work parties, we always intended to use it but just never got around to it.  Fast forward to last year, we challenged the kids to read the Book of Mormon on their own in one year or less along with our ward challenge at church.   Eden read the Book of Mormon stories to Tucker and the three boys read the whole book, Kolby even told us about how he prayed when he finished and he felt the spirit testify the truthfulness to him.  It was a sweet experience.   We told them we would do something cool when they all finished and it took 8 months but we finally did it by using the John's gift card to celebrate.  Of course Eli got to come along since he was here but he said he hasn't finished the Book of Mormon yet so we joked around telling him he wasn't allowed to have fun while we were there!

Primary activity

Just before school started we planned a primary activity for the kids at the park.  We planned for the kids to play in the splash pad, but the water never turned on.  Thanks to our wise primary president we had a bunch of water games to use as back-up!  Tucker and Brody were partners, of course, and Brody's mom got some fun pictures of the two of them (and you can see a few older boys in the background playing along!)  Actually, the big boys helped a lot, my back was having problems and they were able to fill in and do all the lifting for me!   (And take all the pizza boxes to the dumpster!)
