March and April Facebook Status Updates

Friday 14 March
It's been a long day of jog-a-thon packets, prizes and money and 3 separate lunches with kids and kindergarten folders but I'm thankful to @samefarley and all his hard work that makes it so I can stay home and do all of these things for and with my kids!

Even though my birthday is still a couple of weeks away, Sam has already given me two great birthday date nights....last night he arranged to get my hair done by one of his employees and tonight dinner at my favorite restaurant and a trip to Ikea! I'm a lucky girl!

We found out tonight that along with celebrating our 16th anniversary next month, we will also be "celebrating" our 16th move since we've been married! (and by "celebrating" I mean, we were told we have to move because the homeowner wants to sell the house!)

Such a great Easter message!

I feel like I'm on an episode of House Hunters right now with 3 good options with different pros and cons and I wish I could hear what the people on the other side of the screen are yelling at me to choose!!!
  • Melinda Farley These are rentals so no adding on and price is already negotiated lower on all 3 houses. #2 and #3 are part of the same community pool that we live at now, we are definitely leaning towards #3 but it is the least sure thing, the other two properties already want us, the other one is just barely starting so we don't know if they want us and but I need to give an answer soon on the first 2. It's all about the timing right now.

Although I didn't know him personally, his dad was our stake president at church when we were in the Deaf Branch and we have many common friends including his sister-in-law and we are so sad to hear of their loss today but it was neat to read this story about the cool things he has done with his short life.

Spring Soccer

We are more than halfway the Spring soccer season now, but it has been a fun season.  Tucker wanted to start playing and loves it, especially since his team is all of his friends!  I enjoy getting to visit with so many friends at practice and at the games.  I took the picture above from the leagues facebook page because you can see me standing up talking to a friend and her husband (the bishop) and also Tucker and his friend running around and playing. Even though you can're really see much of us, I just love that it shows the typical Saturday scene.
Eden had take her picture with my sunglasses on!
Tucker and his friend are both playing for the first time together!

Their team only has 5 players but these three plus his friend who refused to be in the picture are all from our ward and one of them was also already close to the 5th player so it makes it extra fun!  These are all from the first game, but Tucker has also been so excited that he just scored his first goal in the most recent game!

St. Patrick's Day started early with the Shamrock Run Jog-a-thon the Friday before so the kids got to dress up in their green clothes twice.  I was working on the jog-a-thon packets and prizes so I didn't watch much of the older kids run, but I did get to watch Tucker in the kinder mini run.  Tucker was very excited at first but then he walked a lot too!

On the real St. Patrick's Day, Sam and I went over to Disneyland and got to meet up with our friend Jeremy and his family from high school/church. We watched the parade together and then waited in an hour line for Space Mountain! Normally we wouldn't wait in a line that long, but it gave us a great chance to chat and catch up with Jeremy!

Pi Day

Because I have a bunch of math nerds for children, Pi day (3/14) is something to be celebrated.  This year they had mini pies in their lunch, pies for after school snack and pizza pies for dinner and they also gave a pie to their favorite 6th grade math teacher.   Brady said his student teacher in Geometry also brought pies he made himself to class!

Sam took our little tradition and carried it over to work by surprising all his employees with a bunch of pies!

Passing Notes...

I was in a PTA meeting putting together some jog-a-thon stuff and Tucker came and stuck this sweet little note in my hand and ran away....

SeaWorld Take 2

We had another fun day with the Kitchens at SeaWorld.  We got to see a few of the things we didn't make it to last time and a few of the favorites over again.  The older kids were off on their own going on rides most of the time and the little kids would've been content to stay in the play area all day but also got in their requested shows!

The kids had fun experiencing the dolphins but Tucker couldn't reach to touch in time and was pretty sad about that.
These two asked me to take their picture while we waited for a show!
We waited a long time to go on these "sky buckets" and Tucker was a little afraid right at first but then he loved it!  If you notice their foreheads, I taught them to put their hand on their head after we got our stamp to go out and eat our picnic lunch.

It was a nice day and then we stopped by for a nice visit with Grandma Borgia on our way home!

Snips and Snails...

Nicki and her kids came to town for another visit last month and as usual we all had a great time!  The kids all love to spend time on the big hill when they come and Courtney always enlists everyone's help in gathering snails!  They gathered this whole little wagon full and were quite proud of themselves.
The kids also love it when their cousins come to church with them.  I just took this quick picture when the first group of us was ready and waiting for everyone else!

Kolby stayed home sick a couple of days last month. On the second day when he was starting to feel a little better, he said he felt like having croutons so I looked up a recipe for him and he made them for himself for lunch!

Daddy Daughter

Eden always loves to do a little photo shoot before the Daddy Daughter Dance, I only wish I had pulled out the real camera instead of my phone!  She only decided to go last minute, Sam was going to be home late and their was a church Stake Activity Day she was going to go to instead, but on the day of the dance when she heard everyone talking about it, she changed her mind and even though her dad was very tired from a long day, he agreed to take her and they had a good time.

If you ask Eden what she loves she will either say soccer or singing.  I found this voice class at the Fender museum and she was able to get in the low cost spot.  She had been waiting for over a year to get in and was so excited to go to class.  It didn't turn out to be exactly what I expected, she didn't learn much but she did have fun singing and got to sing two songs at her performance. Her favorite was Roar and she practiced all the time, much to her brothers' dismay.
