Student Film Night

Our friend Eddie was an actor in a student film at Chapman University about a Deaf boy and his family.  He was the adult version of the boy and we went to see his premier.  It was definitely the best show and we had a lot of fun seeing that and the other student films even if some of them were a little weird!

Sr year

In preparing for our upcoming high school reunion, I pulled out a few pictures from our Senior Year.  The picture above is all the Seniors on our drill team trip to Hawaii and below is some of us on the plane ride there!

And these are from a Senior Student Government dinner at the Cliff House restaurant.

Jerusalem Study Abroad

Around Easter I decided to look through some of my Jerusalem pictures as I contemplated that great gift during the #becausehelives campaign and chose pictures from my scrapbook to post.  I was so lucky to have such an amazing experience and here are a few of my favorite pictures.
My wonderful roommates on the balcony of our room in the center, you can see the Dome of the Rock in the background.
The Garden Tomb was one of the most spirit filled places I visited while there.

This was supposed to be the actual spot that Christ was born, many spots we visited like this just seemed gaudy and not too spiritual, but interestingly I felt the spirit very strongly at this spot in Bethlehem and enjoyed the moments we spent singing Christmas songs in the church above.

I really enjoyed our time at the Sea of Galilea as well, this beautiful sunset over the sea was so fitting.  I also felt the spirit and immense gratitude as a visited the Garden of Gethsemane.

Of course there were just a lot of fun times too like hanging over the wall between the center and Hebrew University or the time these guys offered my friend Mark 10 camels for me during our bike ride in Egypt!

The Great Pyramids were obviously impressive but I remember we were surprised at how close they were to the city of Cairo and also how huge those blocks were that made up the pyramid

We had fun in Egypt riding the camels behind the pyramids at night even though I was scared they were going to steal all my money and then the next day when our camel leader invited us to his house to try camel meat.  They fed their cats out of their hands as they prepared the meal but we still ate while they watched us and had a great time belly dancing with his mom!

Easter festivities

Easter was pretty low key this year but we did have my cousin Shane and his family over along with Grandma Borgia.  We debated letting the Easter bunny hide eggs since the kids are getting older and had already had a primary hunt that weekend but the older boys agreed to be complete Easter bunny helpers so the tradition continued.   The Easter bunny also left new shirts for everyone this year so they are all wearing them in the picture above!

Aaron's party

Eden and Tucker had a lot of friends at Aaron's birthday party, especially the pie in the face part.  I had to get some pictures of Eden playing basketball on the tramp with the boys because it is so her. Often when the girls are off playing together, she is playing a sport with the boys for a while and then later joins right back in with the girls!
