8th grade promotion

We tried to get some pictures with all of the 8th grade friends from church, we are sad that Kendall had to leave and missed the pictures but we are glad they have a great group together! It was also cool that Sam's mom was coming through town that day and got to be there.  I just can't believe we have 2 high school kids now!

Alaska Cruisin'

At the end of May Sam left to do interpret two back-to-back Disney Cruises so he was gone for 12 days.  That was a long time, especially because we were in limbo about his job, but he still had an amazing time, of course!  He did a short one that went from San Diego to Vancouver and the next one went from Vancouver up to Alaska and back.  That second one was also a Disney Vacation Club Member cruise so there was a lot of extra fun scheduled and a lot of free swag that he brought home for the kids like the hat Tucker is wearing in the picture above! Tucker is also showing the two shirts Sam got for him.  The rest of the pictures are the ones Sam took of his first experience in Alaska (and the first part where they went by the Golden Gate Bridge and stopped at the Disney museum and Pixar with McKay).

Latest school happenings....

Now that summer is almost over, it seems like a good time to post the end of school year pictures!  The usual awards pictures, Eden got quite a few and even surprised us be eeking out straight A's at the last minute to get highest honors!

Tucker got a Language Arts award but I missed hearing his name while I was helping at the PTA snack table so I got his picture in the audience a little later.

Jordan was recognized for being one of the top kids in his computer class, his really fun teacher computer teacher got his award winners hulk hands, Jordan loved it and loved that class! He kept them on when he got his academic award.

The office school at the staff gave us a nice lunch for being on the PTA board.  I have these pictures of the center piece because my friend wanted me to see if Deveren could make it for her!

The first grade did a patriotic assembly and sang a bunch of songs.  Tucker was doing some sign language to me during the program and I was impressed that he was using signs we had just taught in our sign language class that we do at our house.  One of the signs he was doing was "take a picture" because apparently I wasn't doing my mom duty of taking a bunch of pictures like the other moms!

Random kid moments

Most Tuesday nights I end up sitting in the foyer at the church for 2 to 2 1/2 hours with all the kids activities.  I actually enjoy it, I usually get to talk to several different people from the ward, many that I don't have a lot of other chances to talk with them.  Another fun thing to watch is all the kids playing together.  There are so many younger siblings that also hang out at the church while their siblings and/or parents are in activities and meetings.  I love that my kids have a good group of friends there to hang out with of several different ages.  This week in particular, they were all playing some cops and robbers (and murdering kitty as the one little girl is alway a kitty cat) so nicely together and it was so fun to listen to them that I decided to try and catch a few pictures.

Eden and Tucker found these skates when we cleaned out the garage on Memorial Day and they were fighting over whose turn it was so I sent them in another room and told them to come back when they had a solution. I expected them to come back with some kinds of schedule so I thought it was pretty funny when they came back with this solution!

Eden selfie found on my camera!

Kolby said he was willing to make dinner one day but only if he could find a new recipe he wanted to make so he searched the cookbooks and decide to make a strogenoff.

And a Brady Selfie to finish up this post!
