Mr. Popular

Tucker seems to be Mr. Popular lately!  Not really, but he did get to go hang out with his friend Frankie and play Play Lego Dimensions and eat Cheese Balls, apparently Frankie was stuck at a spot and needed Tucker to help him get past it (which Tucker knew how to do because his brothers looked it up online). His most popular day was Saturday when he got to go to 2 really fun parties.  His friend Seth from church had a Tai Kwan Do party in the daytime and then he got to go see the Monster Truck Jam that night for his friend Ethan's birthday!  Such a great day for Tucker with great friends!

And another friend's birthday at Legoland

Sick selfies

I was really sick for a couple of weeks.  It seemed to come and go and morph into other things.  During this time, I was still doing the Mind, Body, Spirit Challenge.  I was allowed to have one sick day but there was no way I was going to waste it on certain days so I found myself forcing some minimal exercise often to get my daily 30 minutes.  On this particular day I had come back from the church for scouts and mutual so it was already late but I got on the treadmill anyway in my big winter coat with a cough drop in my mouth and walked at only 1 mile/hr.  I spent a good deal of that time trying to take a selfie to kill some of the time.  These are a few that I came up with!

The next day I still had to go to class and I also found out that I needed an ID card to complete some of the assignments.  Feeling miserable, I made the trek to the administration building only to realize that I needed my license which was clear across campus and then back to the building.  Needless to say, I was miserable and tired and had gone to the gym that morning anyway to swim to get my exercise and then stuck my hair in a messy bun and not the cute kind of messy bun, I really messy, tired, straight out bed and pool, sick person bun and then I had to have my picture taken. I just laughed when I saw this picture and had to send it to Sam.  I don't think you can even tell how bad it looks in person from this picture!  I posting it here just to remember that it's not all rosey like a blog often seems.  I was miserable with sickness and I'd also been really struggling with a situation where my feelings had been hurt, like I cried for a whole day straight about it and I still feel crushed but I know it's all a matter of how I choose to react so I'm moving on and there's always a new day, or in this case a new week!

Guys and Dolls

We have an amazingly talented friend in our ward who was the lead in Guys and Dolls at a nice dinner theater so a large group from our ward all went the same night and had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the show and she said she loved having so many people there for her in the audience!  We have always loved having theater date nights so we are thankful to have this friend in all these different plays we get to go see!

Teenager things

Brady was given the MVP award from his Honors Chem teacher.  I guess each teacher picks 3 kids a year out of all their classes to give to students.  We actually missed the award presentation, we arrived just as they were announcing the "G" names but we were able to grab it after and get a picture.

Below is what I found when I walked by Jordan's room one day.  I know it's hard to see, but he and Kolby constructed a device to hold an ipod out in front of. I wasn't sure if I should be mad that he was watching videos in his room which is not allowed or impressed with his ingenuity!

Baptism

Tucker's special day was so nice.  We loved seeing so many friends and family. There were two other of his little friends from his class baptized the same time so we had a huge turn out from the ward along with all the family. It is so great that he made the choice to be baptized and his dad could use the Priesthood to baptize him. Tucker had asked Grandma Farley to give the talk about the Holy Ghost and he loved the blanket she gave him as she talked about the comforter.  He had both grandpa's as his witnesses and of course they stood in the circle along with my cousin Shane, Brad Godfrey, and Jared Warner. This is what Tucker had to say about that day:

"I was nervous, it felt weird, I felt clean after I was baptized and it felt really good.   The jumpsuit was kind of tight. When I got there and saw all the people and family I thought it was going to be good and it was going to be fun after.  I was excited to have Sammie and Alyvia there getting baptized too.  When Sister Packer talked about baptism, I was excited that I was going to get two pennies.  The clean meant that we would be all clean and new and the old one was us before but their still worth the same thing.  I was baptized last, I was the fish, I got to swim in and pull the plug on the font. When I watched my friends get baptized I thought it was going to be good for me to get baptized.   I felt the spirit when I came out of the water.  I liked wearing my new suit.  Grandma Farley talked about the Holy Ghost and gave me a blanket because the Holy Ghost is like a blanket and wraps around me and makes me nice and cozy and comfortable.   I felt the Holy Ghost when dad said the blessing.   I felt like I am lucky because it is my baptism day. I had a lot of friends and family there."

Family in town

It was so great to have so many family members come to town for Tucker's baptism, I just wish I got a picture with everyone but it was too crazy!   My parents and Laura and Kaylee got here first and Laura wanted to take Tucker to Disneyland for his birthday.   I met up with them after my class and we had fun.  Tucker was anxious like usual but then loved almost everything.  He really didn't want to go on Star Tours but then loved it and said it was his favorite ride ever and he wanted to get season passes to come back everyday to go on Star Tours.  We managed to find a good spot for the light parade without waiting too long and everyone loved it!
A lot of time was spent hanging out with cousins. Nicki showed up next with her younger kids and Eden and Tucker were in heaven!  Eden and Courtney also loved playing mom to Kaylee until they got tired and she started hanging with Kolby and he had a little buddy attached to him for most of the day which he didn't mind, he is good with her! I got this picture of them playing together on the trampoline from my upstairs window.

Eden and Courtney tried to match and they also had fun doing Kaylee's hair.

Sam's parents and Eli came next and then Grandma Borgia and Deveren and his family just happened to be headed to Disneyland so we were lucky to get to have them come by for the baptism and some games after.  Also my cousin Shane and his family were able to make it and I just wish we had more time to visit with them.

Rockets

Every year the Deacons to a camp out on the property of a family in the ward and launch rockets in the morning and cub scouts are invited to join them in the morning.  Kolby got to set his rocket off twice before it disappeared into a tree and the family brought it to us a few weeks later!

Tucker loved watching the rockets and getting to be with his buddies. When it was his turn to launch his rocket it kept failing and they had to re-do some things.  Finally when his took off it didn't go very far, sort of exploded and looped back to land on his feet.  It was pretty fun to watch.

Logan and Kolby were good to help him with his rocket to get it right.

My little buddy Hyrum is usually to busy to just sit on my lap but he was very tired from being on the camp out with his dad so he just sat with me for a long time and kept coming back.  I had to get a picture to show his mom that he really sat still!
